Let it flow

Have you been filled from the fountain of living water? Jesus promised to supply living water and, if we’ve asked Him, that life now flows in us. The Holy Spirit, living and active, now resides in us.

If you’ve been to the fountain and are filled with the living water, you are able to live in the desert. You can survive. You can even flourish – yes, even in the hot desert of life. But more than that – you become like Jesus. Just as He is the spring of living water, you become a flowing fount, too. You can be that refreshing taste of life to those around you in the desert. God will pour not only into you – but out of you as well.

Our tendency is to want to collect, to save. That's "cistern thinking." Living water is abundant and, by it's nature, constantly flowing. There is no need to hoard it up and, in fact, when we try to it seeps away.

Sometimes we gush. Sometimes we trickle. But, by the grace of God and His design for us, we touch those around us. To a world wandering in the desert, let’s be a cool drink. We’re all thirsty travelers; we need to point others to the fountain, too. There’s plenty there for all.

"Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'"  John 7:38
