Drops of truth…

Rabbi WTWN-Logo-notagAkiva, noticing a stone at a well that had been hollowed out by drippings from the buckets, said: "If these drippings can, by continuous action, penetrate this solid stone, how much more can the persistent word of God penetrate the pliant, fleshly human heart, if that word but be presented with patient insistency"

Well said, succinctly. Words matter. Especially God's living Word. Good stuff.

I love this quote... because that's exactly what God's word does - penetrates our hearts... usually through our minds first - but often I find that my heart responds more openly than my mind, which tries to figure things out... hope that made sense... but great quote! Thanks for sharing.

C.S. Lewis said "the intellectual life is not the only road to God, nor the safest, but we find it to be a road, and it may be the appointed road for us". May God ever narrow the distance between heart and mind for all of us.
