God’s Realm

“The wonderful thing about praying is that you leave a world of not being able to do something, and enter God’s realm where everything is possible. He specializes in the impossible. Nothing is too great for His almighty power. Nothing is too small for His love.”  Corrie ten Boom

Corrie ten Boom gives encouragement for our prayers. Her insight carries weight as she saw extremes of both evil and good in this life and the faithfulness of God in their midst.

Her words remind me:

Prayer is not about me. It doesn’t depend on me doing it “right.” or some particular formula. It’s about being in the Presence of God, who is sovereign over all.

God can do anything. Almighty, powerful God can intervene in the seemingly most impossible situation and bring His glory in ways we would never expect. Circumstances may seem too late, but God can always make a way.

God is intimately interested in my life. He cares about the number of hairs on our head, the pain in our heart, our joys, our concerns and even what makes us laugh. There is no detail outside His knowledge and, because He loves us, we can bring the smallest concern to Him with confidence of His care.

I am grateful for saints that have walked where I haven’t and have shared what they learned of God’s faithfulness. I want to live in awareness of God’s realm. Corrie, who is buried nearby, will be gloriously raised one day and will see how God used her – even after she was gone.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 1 John 5:14
