He is come indeed!
We usually revel in a similar greeting of praise on resurrection morning when we proclaim Jesus risen, risen indeed. It’s a cry of wonder and joy.
I shouldn’t have any less awe and surprise that He took on a tent of flesh to walk among us. He emptied Himself and took on our pain and weakness, yet without sin.
This season I want to recapture that childlike joy in all its purity. Like children running to the door when long anticipated grandparents arrive squealing, “they’re here!” It is the eager anticipation of a loved one from afar finally realized – boundless joy expressed without reservation.
Our God came! He bent down to humble Himself to be with us. He’s knocking on the door. My door. He came for me.
It’s Christmas morning! Let’s celebrate! He’s here! He’s here! What an awesome gift He is. Emmanuel.
He is come!
He is come indeed!
… but emptied Himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Philippians 2:7-8
