God has given us vast beauty in His creation to enjoy. My dad loves plants and trees, but I’m particularly drawn to the animals. Have you watched puppies play? Or birds hovering above? I can sit for hours and watch God’s creatures in action.
Explorers recently found a deep sea creature that was previously unknown. We don’t have a name for it yet, but it has 8 arms! It has been swimming in the depths of the ocean for thousands of years without even a hint that we knew it was there.
Is it possible He created it for His delight and enjoyment? Does God have a sense of playfulness? We can enjoy this new sea creature now as we learn and explore – but maybe it has been frolicking in the deep for these thousands of years, solely for the pleasure of the Maker.
What do you think of the idea of God as playful?
So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:21
