I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Revelation 22:13
The Alpha and Omega is the Greek for saying from A to Z. It is so fitting that Jesus is called the Word for He encompasses the whole alphabet. He is the Source of everything.
His words are powerful. God spoke and creation happened.
Then God said, “Let there be …” Genesis 1:3
And Jesus, the Word, is there.
In the beginning was the Word. John 1:1
Nothing is written without Him. Nothing.
All things were made through Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made. John 1:3
It is He who writes on our hearts.
I will put My law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be My people. Jeremiah 31:33
He has us written on His hands.
Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of My hands. Isaiah 49:16
There is nothing written into the course of this world that doesn’t come from Him. He is even the source of our faith.
Looking to Jesus the Author and Perfecter of our faith, Hebrews 12:2
He is writing our story, a beautiful and grand story. There are going to be some hard chapters in the middle but we have already gotten a glimpse of what is to come. With the entire alphabet at His command, He can write what He will. And our Author, who loves us, will use every letter purposefully. We can rest as we look with confidence to the Alpha and the Omega and the Everything Between.
It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I Myself will give water freely from the Fountain of Life. Revelation 21:6
