Our God is a God who saves. Psalm 68:20
El Mosha’ah means God who saves or God who delivers. David spoke of El Mosha’ah (the only time it’s used in scripture) in the context of a fierce battle. David cried out this name of his God knowing that He could rescue him.
I, too, call on El Mosha’ah, for I have a God who saves. He has saved me from my sin.
I have a God who rescues. He has rescued me from my life of sinfulness and self.
Yet there is more. It is not just a completed work in the past. My God is the One who does save – repeatedly – as I call out to Him in my troubles. El Mosha’ah is there with me in my trials, in spiritual battles, in chaos from a fallen world. He gives me strength and wisdom and can conquer my foes. I see His hand over and over again in my life; not always as I had hoped or imagined, but always faithfully and lovingly. My God saves. El Mosha’ah. Deliverer. Savior.
