And those who know Your name put their trust in You, for You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You. Psalm 9:10
The names of God reveal His character. Knowing them teach us about who He is. And knowing His character assures us He is trustworthy.
Here are a few:
El Elyon, God Most High – I can be confident He is in control.
El Roi, God who sees – He knows and understands my pain.
El Olam, the everlasting, unchanging God – He is reliable and constant.
Adonai Tzva’ot, Lord of Hosts - He is powerful.
El Hanne’eman, the faithful God – He gives me a secure place.
Jehovah Shammah, the Lord is there – He is all knowing and ever-present.
Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals – He is able to bring wholeness and healing to spirit, mind and body.
The more we know – the easier to trust. He has never forsaken those who seek Him. Let’s learn to call Him by Name.
