I’m so glad I don’t have a God of second chances. Who’d want to go through an exact same regrettable experience again?
A second chance is going back to the same starting place and trying again for the same thing. That works out sometimes, but not always. God doesn’t set us back to where we were. He transforms us and then gives us a new position to start from. I like that a whole lot better!
The fresh start that God gives puts us in a whole new paradigm. We see the world differently. He gives us new resources and even a new goal.
When things haven’t gone well, I’m grateful I haven’t been assigned a second (or third or fourth) chance. I’ve been given the gift of a fresh start in Him.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17
