Am I different? Ok, that can be taken a lot of ways - I can hear some of your comments now. But I have to ask myself - how am I different from the world around me?
The picture of stone/rock is peppered throughout the text. God is portrayed like a fortress rock, firm and protective.
In 1 Peter 2, Peter not only calls Christ a stone (Living stone) but he calls us stones, too. Let's talk later about what we, as stones, are being built into. For now, let's mix some metaphors. If we are stones, then maybe God is calling us to be living standing stones. Remember standing stones were erected to compel the recounting of a story.
