Have you ever been hesitant to go to sleep? Maybe there is too much to do or something is worrying you that you feel needs your attention.
In my view, sleep reflects the Sabbath model. God has given us 6 days to work and the seventh is given to rest as we lay down our work and trust Him. He has also given us 24 hours in a day. Part of that must be given to sleep if we are to live a healthy life. We do our work and then must stop and trust God for the rest.
The beautiful piece is that we have a God who doesn't sleep. He doesn’t get tired or need to recharge. He is constantly watching over us with a loving eye. There is nothing tomorrow that will surprise Him or that is beyond His power. We can rest in His goodness and provision.
Sleep well.
Indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. Psalm 121:4
