What’s your name?

We’ve looked at some names of God, each one revealing a piece of who He is. And when we look at His awesome power, glory and majesty, it is even more incredible to see what He calls us.

Children – sons and daughters John 1:12

Adopted Romans 8:15

Heir Romans 8:17

Beloved Jude 1:1

Friend John 15:15

Elect of God Colossians 3:12

Citizen of Heaven Philippians 3:20

Chosen Ephesians 1:4

His Workmanship Ephesians 2:10

New Creation 2 Corinthians 5:17

Ambassador 2 Corinthians 5:20

Together we are His:

Bride Revelation 19:7

Body 1 Corinthians 12:27

Branches John 15:5

Temple 2 Corinthians 6:16

If you look at this list, we see they are all wrapped up in His declaration that we are loved. Do you want something more personal today to know that it is YOU He loves and not just us? He knows your name individually and has given you a new name. He knows and cares for the hairs on your head and sustains every breath until He calls you home. Indeed, He has you written on the palms of His hands as well as THE Book in the heavens.

Be encouraged this day and know who you are! You are loved, redeemed and forgiven. Walk in the confidence of an heir of the King and go and love others in His name.

So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God. Galatians 4:7

Hi Jen, It’s so interesting that I should read this article, “What’s Your Name?” today, on my birthday. It’s as if God is reminding me of my identity and worth in him. I needed to hear it. 2020 was a tough year, but I’m determined to press forward into 2021 with confidence, knowing my name. Thank you for all the great articles you write. I read them often as they continue to encourage and give me strength. I hope and pray you and your pup are well. God bless you! Yvonne
