Celebrate!

“the Jews took it upon themselves …”

Tonight begins the celebration our Jewish brothers and sisters will observe for Purim.  This holiday is to remember the protection and deliverance God provided to them (as recorded in the book of Esther).

Esther records that “they took it upon themselves” to celebrate.  They were so grateful and so joyful at God’s deliverance that they wanted to “mark the moment”. And they made a decision – an action – to remember.

This was not one of the required feasts commanded by God – and yet – “they took it upon themselves.”

I want to celebrate more. Not just at the “required” times – but to “take it upon ourselves” to celebrate what God has done and is doing. So that we will remember – remember His faithfulness, remember His goodness, remember what He did when…

Do we spontaneously rejoice at His faithfulness? Do we purpose to remember?

God is good!  Let’s celebrate!

...the Jews took it on themselves to establish the custom that they and their descendants and all who join them should without fail observe these two days every year, ... These days should be remembered and observed in every generation by every family, ... And these days of Purim should never fail to be celebrated by the Jews—nor should the memory of these days die out among their descendants.   Esther 9:27-28

What has God done that you could celebrate?

God has provided for 17 years through my business and, through that, I will reach the next level of my financial stewardship goals by year's end. Yeah!
